Supporting Early Recovery of Conflict Affected Families  (SERCAF) Project

Environmental Protection Society (EPS) in partnership with Concern World Wide launched a project captioned "Supporting Early Recovery of Conflict Affected Families in District Swat" (SERCAF). The project area comprises of Four Union Councils i.e. Kota & Barikot Union Councils in Swat Tehsil and Matta Kharirai & PirKalay Union Councils in Matta Tehsil.

The project aim at provision of early recovery needs for livelihoods.

Purpose:

To assist conflict affected families in their livelihood recovery through the revival of onfarm  and non-farm livelihoods and essential community infrastructure in the four Union Councils of Swat District.

Activities:

The main activities of the project are;

(1) Provision of vegetable gardening inputs, support to resource poor households

Provision of poultry package to poor and vulnerable households  (2)

                        (3) Provision of cows to poor and vulnerable households

(4) Vaccination and de-worming of livestock

(5) Training of unemployed people in employable skills to start income earning activities

(6) Technical trade specific toolkits will be provided to start income earning activities

(7) Restoration of damaged/affected small businesses through enterprise grants.

(8) Restoration of small scale community infrastructure through active participation of the community.

The project would be managed from EPS head office, Saidu Sharif, Swat, while to accelerate the process a field office is also established in Matta town, to look-after the activities executed in Matta Tehsil.
